Paris Saint-Germain continued their strong start in Ligue 1 with a hard-fought 2-1 win over OGC Nice on Saturday evening.
Nordi Mukiele, Vitinha, Juan Bernat and young Hugo Ekitike were the four changes made by the Parisans from their 1-0 win over Olympique Lyon in their last match.
It was a very quiet opening where both sides struggled to open each other up, though surprisingly enough Nice showed a lot of initiative in as well as out of possession.
PSG, however, made the breakthrough two minutes before the half-hour mark when Lionel Messi stood over a free-kick from close proximity and curled into the top corner.
The reigning Ligue 1 champions nearly made it two from another free-kick a few minutes later where Neymar Junior on this occasion fired the resultant set-play over the top of target.
Although, the visitors sprung to life following a pretty decent first half and levelled through a smartly executed finish from close-range by Gaetan Laborde after a ball in the box.
PSG coach Christopher Galtier made a double change in order to restore their advantage minutes apart, as Kylian Mbappe replaced Ekitike and Nuno Mendes slotted in for Bernat.
The home side regained a bit of control later on and were back ahead when the self-same Mbappe met Mukiele's cross in the box and applied a first-time finish with seven minutes to go.
PSG maintained the momentum during the final exchanges of the match and picked up all the points to remain on top of the table.
