Ligue 1 Wrap

Olympique Marseille's top-four aspirations were dented following a defeat to Nantes, while Lille put on a rampant display against Nimes in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

Olympique Marseille 1-2 Nantes

Marseille failed to strengthen their grip on fifth spot with a 2-1 defeat against Nantes at the Stade Velodrome.

Nantes were ahead on 22 minutes through Samuel Moutoussamy. The lead was cut short as Mario Balotelli levelled matters on 25 minutes.

However, the Green and Yellows grabbed the winner on 50 minutes through Andrei Gritto to stretch their winning run to four matches.

OGC Nice 3-0 Guingamp

Nice thumped Guingamp 3-0 at the Allianz Riviera Stadium on Sunday afternoon to rekindle their Europa League hopes.

Dangerman Youcef Atal's hat-trick separated the two, as the Algerian struck the first on nine minutes, with the second on 68 minutes while the third happened five minutes later.

The result puts the hosts up to seventh, with bottom-place Guingamp destined for the drop to Ligue 2.

Angers 1-1 Stade Reims

Angers overturned a 2-1 loss away at Olympique Lyon last week with a 1-1 draw against Reims at the Stade Jean-Bouin.

Reims were ahead on 63 minutes courtesy of Mathieu Cafaro, and while victory looked certain, full-back Vincent Manceau levelled matters on 71 minutes, as Reims drop to eighth while Angers remain 12th.

Lille 5-0 Nimes

Second-place Lille dished out a 5-0 thumping to a hapless Nimes at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy to leave the visitors in ninth place.

All five strikes came in the second half courtesy of Loic Remy, Jonathan Bamba, Mehmet Zeki Celik, Nicolas Pepe and Rui Fonte, as Lille all but cement second spot with three matches to go.

Amiens SC 0-0 Strasbourg

Amiens and Strasbourg cancelled out each other with an uninspiring goalless draw at the Stade de la Licorne.

Subsequently, the result fails to improve their mid-table standings, with Amiens stuck in 16th and Strasbourg in 10th.

Caen 1-0 Dijon

Caen limped to a 1-0 win over Dijon FCO at the Stade Michel-d'Ornano in a relegation six-pointer in Caen.

Forward Faycal Fajr provided the all-important on 67 minutes after a drab first half, as Caen remain 19th place, just a point off second-bottom Dijon and five off last placed Guingamp.

Saint-Etienne 2-0 Toulouse

Saint-Etienne's winning streak stretched to six matches following a 2-0 victory over Toulouse at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium.

A ten-minute double from Robert Beric, which came in the second and 10th minute of the first half separated the duo, thus leaving the Saints in fourth spot.

As such, Etienne sustain their hopes of UEFA Champions League football next season, trailing third-place Lyon with only three points.
