Ligue 1 Wrap

Rennes 2-1 Paris Saint Germain

Paris Saint Germain were handed their first defeat by Rennes, who came from a goal down to win 2-1 on their own patch.

Edison Cavani put PSG in front on 36 minutes, but M'Baye Niang drew matters level with a 44th minute conversion.

Romain Del Castillo provided the winner two minutes in the second half, as Rennes jump into third place after two matches.

Saint-Etienne 1-1 Brest

Saint-Etienne were held to a 1-1 draw against the newly-promoted Brest at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium in Sunday's Ligue 1 action.

In fact, Etienne were on the brink of a shock defeat after Julien Faussurier handed the visitors a stoppage time opener.

The Greens needed a seventh minute from time bailout from Denis Bouanga to spare an embarrassing defeat on match day two.

Stade Reims 0-0 Strasbourg

Reims and Strasbourg played to a goalless draw, as both sides proved wasteful in front of goal.

Reims lose their first points of the season after overcoming Marseille in last weekend's opener, while consecutive draws leave Strasbourg winless.
