Ligue 1 wrap

Olympique Marseille ended a four-match winless run with a 2-0 victory over basement side Strasbourg on Sunday evening at Orange Velodrome.

Boubacar Kamara grabbed an early lead for Marseille in the third minute and Kevin Strootman sealed the three points for the hosts deep in stoppage time from the penalty spot.

Bafana Bafana international Lebogang Mothiba was introduced in the 68th minute for the visitors.

Wissam Ben Yedder was the hero as he inspired AS Monaco to a 3-2 victory Rennes in a five-goal thriller on Sunday evening at Stade Louis II.

Ben Yedder got the opener for the hosts as early as the third minute before Faitout Maouassa equalised for Rennes in the 12th minute.

Adrien Hunou gave the visitors the lead three minutes after the break but only for Islam Slimani to level matters for Monaco while Ben Yedder netted the winner in second-half stoppage time with his second goal of the game.

Saint-Etienne netted deep in second-half stoppage time to sink Bordeaux 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Stade Matmut-Atlantique.

After neither side could find the breakthrough in regulation time, Bordeaux shot themselves in the foot, conceding a penalty in the last minute of the match, which Denis Bouanga converted to secure the spoils.
