Ligue 1 wrap

Bordeaux resumed Ligue 1 action with a 2-1 triumph over AS Monaco at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors took a 15th-minute lead through Islam Slimani but were pegged back on 29 minutes when Pablo restored parity.

Monaco were reduced to ten men after 67 minutes when Slimani received his second yellow before Bordeaux secured the winning goal two minutes later, with Nicolas de Preville scoring from the penalty spot.

Saint-Etienne missed the chance to move up to second spot in Ligue 1 after being held to a goalless draw by Montpellier.

As a result, The hosts remain in fifth spot, two points ahead of sixth place Montpellier.

Olympique Marseille reclaimed second spot in Ligue 1 with an impressive 2-0 win away to Toulouse on Sunday evening.

Darío Benedetto and Nemanja Radonjic were on target in the second half for the visitors after Tolouse were reduced to ten men when Steven Moreira was sent before the halftime break.
