Olympique Marseille 1-1 Rennes

Olympique Marseille missed the chance to move up to fourth spot after dropping points at home to Rennes in Ligue 1 action on Sunday night.

The hosts were without their star duo of Dimitri Payet and Florian Thuavin, as Rennes broke the deadlock on 19 minutes through an Hiroki Sakai own goal.

Duje Caleta-Car restored parity for the home side on 52 minutes, but 1-1 was how the encounter ended at the Orange Vélodrom.

The point sees Marseille move up to fifth spot , while move up one place to eighth.

Nimes 0-1 Saint-Etienne

Saint-Etienne got their Ligue 1 campaign up and running with a 1-0 victory away to Nimes on Sunday evening.

Former Arsenal defender Mathiue Debuchy was the hero for the visitors after finding the back of the net in the 68th minute.

Saint-Etienne also finished the game with 10 men after Romain Hamouma received his marching orders with 16 minutes remaining.

Despite claiming three points, Saint-Etienne remain in the bottom two while sit in 15th position.
