A current coach in Ligue 1 has hit back at Cristiano Ronaldo's claims that the Saudi Pro League is better the French league.
The last year has seen a number of high-profile footballers leave European shores for the big-money in Saudi Arabia, including Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Neymar, N'Golo Kante and Sadio Mane.

With more big names arriving, Ronaldo made a claim that the Saudi Pro League is not worse than than the French top-flight.
Lille coach Paulo Fonseca, who is also Portuguese, was not too impressed with Ronaldo's remarks.
"I don't think it's good what he said. I don't want to make a comparison. If he feels happy in Saudi Arabia, I'm happy for him. "
There are things that don't deserve to be answered. I'm wasting my time answering them.
"These statements are part of it. I think intelligent people will understand why he made this statement."
