Neymar decides his future

Neymar has now confirmed his plans for next season amid reports of a potential exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 31-year-old remains a divisive figure at the Parc des Princes, with his future having often come into speculation in recent seasons.

Tensions reached a high earlier this year when a group of PSG fans staged a protest outside his home in Paris demanding that he leaves the club for good.

Some of the concerns that have been raised regarding the player include his recurring injuries and missing of crucial games, his party lifestyle, and the feeling that he has failed to justify the world-record €222 million (R4.4 billion) transfer fee the French giants paid to sign him from FC Barcelona in 2017 in the hope he would one day guide them to their first-ever taste of UEFA Champions League glory, which is yet to transpire six years later.

Since the 2022/23 campaign ended, he has been linked with a growing list of clubs, including Newcastle United, Chelsea, Manchester United, Barca, and teams in Saudi Arabia.

In the midst of a return from a five-month injury lay-off, however, the Brazilian has now defiantly vowed to stay with the Ligue 1 champions next season, despite his seemingly broken relationship with many of the team's supporters.

"I hope to play this season at PSG, I have a contract with Paris. So far, no one has told me anything," he said to CazeTV.

"I am calm, even if there is not much love between the supporters and the player.

"I will be there, with or without love."
