On Tuesday, French prime minister Edouard Philippe announced the during the National Assembly regarding the country's response to the coronavirus pandemic, which ends the top two divisions prematurely.

This week, both Ligue 1 and 2 clubs were aiming to return to light training with the goal of completing the rest of the campaign behind closed doors.
However, the decision that has yet to be made public by the league, is likely to cause major debate over the league title, relegation and UEFA Champions League and Europa League qualification.

Thomas Tuchel's Paris Saint-Germain side held a 12-point lead over Marseille before the top-flight was suspended, whilst only four points separated the top-five in the second-tier.
And it may be bleak news for Bongani Zungu's Amiens, who occupy 19th place, an automatic relegation spot with 20th place Toulouse.

Should Ligue 1 follow the Eredivisie's executive decision, after the Dutch top-flight cancelled their professional league last week - there would be no league winners, promotion or regelation.
The European qualifications places would be determined based on the current state of the table, which is likely to league LOSC Lille disgruntles as they sit in fourth place, a point behind Marshall Munetsi's Reims.
However, the final decision is reportedly set to be determined at a Ligue de Football Professionnel meeting next month.
