Dembele fires dig at Barca after PSG move

France and Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele has seemingly fired a dig at his former side FC Barcelona.

The French forward made the decision to leave the Camp Nou, which certainly upset former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez at the time.

Dembele did receive a bit of criticism for leaving the Spanish giants, reminding fans of how Neymar left the club to join PSG in 2017.

However, the France international was asked about why he is feels better in the French capital instead of Barcelona.

"Luis Enrique gives me a lot of freedom. At Barcelona I was more attached to the wing. At PSG, I can play everywhere, as a No.10, on the wing, as a false 9," Dembel said, as per Marca.

"I had more freedom in the second half of the season. The coach told me to keep moving, except when I had to maintain my position on the wing."

Dembele also opened up about his countryman Kylian Mbappe leaving PSG for Real Madrid on a free transfer.

"We've always had a very good relationship, I've known him for a long time," he said, as per Le10Sport.

"His signing with Real doesn't shock me. He's had Real posters since he was little!

"He's always the same, always smiling. I talk with him all the time. He is focused. He was focused with PSG. We reached the Champions League semi-finals, won three titles in France. He knows the Euro is important. He's a good captain, a leader, he speaks up. He doesn't hide, he always tries to push the group. He helps the young players."
