Paris Saint-Germain billionaire CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi accused of 'poisoning' squad after capitulation

Paris Saint-Germain CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been blamed for the end of season capitulation at the French giants that's resulted in their worst campaign in seven years.

The Ligue 1 giants started the new season with a renewed sense of optimism with German coach Thomas Tuchel at the helm and the attacking trio of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Edinson Cavani spearheading the assault for multiple honours.

With the UEFA Champions League title the clear target, given the fact that now Arsenal boss Unai Emery was sacked after winning two consecutive domestic trebles - the 2018/19 season has unravelled in disastrous fashion.

PSG will finish the season with only league honours, which they struggled to wrap up after shock defeats to LOSC Lille, Nantes and a draw to Strasbourg over the past month.

And this has been blamed on their billionaire chairman who has financed the star-studded squad in Paris over the treatment of academy graduate Adrien Rabiot - who has been left to train with the reserve side since refusing to sign a new contract.

"The president [Al-Khelaifi] has made a completely unfair decision and everybody knows that," his agent Veronique Rabiot told Agence France Presse. "By doing this, he has instilled a poison in his team, which has done its work over the past five months -- Nasser has broken his own team up because he forgot about the human factor.
