Paris Saint-Germain boss responds to Kylian Mbappe exit talks

Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel has responded to the somewhat controversial exit comments made by Kylian Mbappe recently, which further fuelled speculation the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is set for an exit from the Ligue 1 champions.

Upon accepting the 2019 Ligue 1 Player and Young Player of the Year accolades last weekend, Mbappe, 20, caused quite a stir when he suggested he could be poised for a move elsewhere in a bid for "more responsibility" as a player.

The Parisian giants quickly moved to quash the rumours by releasing a statement clarifying Mbappe's future with the club.

Les Parisiens manager Tuchel has since weighed in on the matter.

"(Mbappe) has big goals and lots of confidence and he decided make that speech," Tuchel said, as per Marca.

"He's very intelligent and knows what he's doing and, on the other hand, he is invited to take more responsibility.

"Each player is invited to (take responsibility). You don't need to ask for this in a speech. He's a special player, he wants to score, score, score... and have every trophy possible.

"Special players are like this and we have to accept that. I'm not angry. That's football! Yes, as a coach, I want them (to stay), but we're attentive.

"We're not gullible, clubs want to sign lots of players. But, if you ask me as a coach, yes I want them to be here next season. But if that doesn't happen, we will find solutions."

With one game left in the Ligue 1 campaign, Tuchel also commented on Mbappe's chances of overtaking FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi in his pursuit of the European Golden Shoe.

"(Scoring) four goals is difficult.

"If we say that we're going to score four goals so that Kylian can win (the Golden Shoe), it would show a lack of respect for our opponent. It's an objective for Kylian, but it's not realistic."

Mbappe has amassed 32 goals in 28 league matches in 2017/18, and, overall, has managed to find the back of the net on 38 occasions in 42 games across all competitions for PSG so far this season.
