Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could potentially face each other for the final time later this month.
For more than a decade, the duo have been competing with each other to secure football's biggest trophies and awards, with the pair sharing 12 Ballon d'Or titles between them.

Their rivalry intensified when Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid in 2009 to join the ex-FC Barcelona captain in LaLiga, but in recent years, the duo have been playing in separate leagues.
The last time they faced each other was in December 2020, when Messi's Blaugrana met Ronaldo's Juventus in the UEFA Champions League, a tie the Bianconeri won 3-0 with the latter scoring twice.
While some hoped that Portugal and Argentina would meet in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final to see another epic clash between the superstar duo, only the latter made it to the competition's deciding match and went on to win the tournament, with the European nation being knocked out by Morocco in the quarter-finals.
With Ronaldo's move to Saudi Arabia now a done deal and Messi still being linked with a switch to Inter Miami or staying in Paris, many wondered if they would ever face each other again on a football pitch.
According to PSG Talks, however, the Ligue 1 giants are set for a trip to the Middle East nation to face a combined XI featuring Al Nassr and Al Hilal players in a special mid-season friendly on 19 January.
If the match does go ahead as planned, it is likely that both Ronaldo and Messi will be ready to compete in the tie, which could mark the final time they go up against each other in their playing careers.

The Argentine has returned to Les Parisiens training this week after being granted an extended break following his World Cup triumph, while the Portugal superstar completed his medical for his new team on Tuesday afternoon.
