PSG boss singles out 'excellent' Yamal

Paris Saint-Germain director Luis Campos has given some special praise to FC Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal.

The 17-year-old has risen to football stardom over the last few months, especially after helping Spain win the 2024 European Championship.

The Spanish winger was reportedly a target for PSG, who were looking to sign younger players for their project rather than bringing in big names.

The Ligue 1 champions were reportedly ready to splash €250 million on the attacker, but the player is keen on staying with the Catalans.

"If all the players who have been linked to PSG in the press were here, we would have five stars per position.

"And we only need two. Of course I like Lamine Yamal, but also Dembele, Barcola, Kang In-Lee, Marco Asensio, Goncalo Ramos... Fantastic players with enormous quality.

"Let's not forget. PSG is very happy with the players it has in those positions. For my part, saying that Lamine Yamal is not a great player would be a huge mistake.

"He is an excellent footballer and I am very happy to see him play at the level he does."
