Mbappe's transfer price tag 'revealed'

Paris Saint-Germain are said to have named their price for wantaway star Kylian Mbappe.

It is understood that the 24-year-old has informed the club that he will not trigger the one-year contract extension until June 2025 included in his deal.

The decision is said to have upset the Qatari owners and they are now desperate to retain the player, even if it means offering the forward a stake in some of their investments.

However, it's also noted that the Ligue 1 champions would prefer to make a hard call and sell Mbappe him in the upcoming window rather than lose him for a free next year in June.

As such, PSG have now placed a €150 million (R3 billion) price tag on the star, according to French journalist Julien Laurens.

Spanish radio show El Larguero also claims that the Parisians are open to the sale given the position they finds themselves in but are not willing to sell him to Real Madrid specifically, thus leaving Paris-born star with an option of moving to the Premier League instead.

In a more recent development in the matter, Mbappe has also issued a statement to French outlet AFP confirming that PSG have known about his stance since last year, just months after signing the new contract.

"The board has been informed since July 15th, 2022 of my decision not to extend beyond 2024, and the letter sent was only meant to confirm what I already told them," the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner's statement read.
