With Lionel Messi said have demanded access to a jet and a VIP box at the Camp Nou for his and Luis Suarez's family, among other things, back in 2020, the Uruguay international has now opened up on his good friend's reported contract demands at FC Barcelona.
Last month, reports in Spain claimed to have revealed Messi's leaked contract demands at Barca in 2020, when the Argentina captain was in talks with the Catalan side over a renewal of his deal, which was set to expire in June 2021.

Although the 35-year-old eventually left the Blaugrana in August last year and joined Paris Saint-Germain, some of his demands back then were said to have included a three-year deal plus a signing-on bonus of £8.7 million (R175 million), an £8 700 (R175 665) release clause, a private jet to fly his family to Argentina every Christmas, and a VIP box at the Camp Nou for his and Suarez's families.
The former Liverpool striker appears to have now confirmed the details that were leaked, revealing that the demands make sense to him.
"It amuses me. It is something very normal in any player," Suarez told Marca.
"If you check the contracts of any elite footballer, they should all have their box. I, for example, at Atletico [Madrid], had mine; in Nacional, too.
"That's why all this speculation amuses me.
"Actually, Leo's thing was to try to make life easier for the club because, being shared by our two families, it was just a box.
"It was more difficult for Barca if Suarez had one and Messi had another."

Speculation around Messi's potential return to Barca has increased in recent days, with the Catalan outfit's economic vice-president Eduard Romeu revealing the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's homecoming is possible from a financial standpoint.
