When Messi's big decision on future 'will be revealed'

With Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi's contract set to expire in June, when he will announce his big decision on his club future has reportedly been revealed.

The Argentine's future has remained a hot topic throughout the 2022/23 season, with some reports stating that the veteran could rejoin FC Barcelona later this year after Blaugrana manager Xavi Hernandez and president Joan Laporta both publicly admitted they would love to see the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's return to the Camp Nou.

It was later reported that MLS club Inter Miami were confident of signing Messi due to co-owner David Beckham's relationship with the Les Parisiens hierarchy.

With speculation heating up, the 35-year-old refused to comment on his future ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Once the tournament ended with Messi winning the title, it was reported that the superstar has verbally agreed to stay at PSG for at least one more season.

Now, according to Spanish news outlet Marca, that contract extension will be announced later this week, with Messi, who returned to club training today following a break after the World Cup, set to sign a new deal until June 2024.

It remains unconfirmed if the South American superstar's salary will stay the same or potentially increase.
