Agent: Man Utd star's shock swap for African target possible

According to an agent in Europe, one of Manchester United's top stars could be involved in a shock swap deal for one of Africa's most sought-after players.

It is believed Victor Osimhen is set to leave Napoli at the end of the season, and with the identity of his future club still unclear, the Premier League is his most likely next destination, according to Italian agent Andrea D'Amico.

"The future of Osimhen? It's difficult to say now, we're in May and it's not a small deal so we'll have to wait," he said, per TEAMtalk

"He speaks English, the Premier League is the most important championship in the world. He doesn't go to Barcelona and Real Madrid, and if he doesn't go to PSG or Bayern [Munich] either, he will only be left with the Premier League."

With United looking to make some big changes to their playing squad following Sir Jim Ratcliffe's minority stake purchase, D'Amico also stated that it would be possible for the Red Devils to sign the Nigerian attacker in an exchange deal that would see striker Rasmus Hojlund head the other way.

"Osimhen-Hojlund exchange with United? It's feasible, Manchester United respects the characteristics where Osimhen could play; in short, it's a plausible scenario."

The Danish forward has managed to accumulate 16 goals and two assists in 42 games across all competitions thus far in his debut campaign for the three-time UEFA Champions League winners, although there is a feeling that the Nigeria superstar could be an upgrade on the Dane.

It is said that while United's new co-owner Ratcliffe is keen on acquiring the signatures of high-profile players, he is also cautious of the EPL's Profit and Sustainability Rules.

It is therefore believed that the club is ready to let go of some of their higher-earning players in order to make way for new signings, with Raphael Varane having already confirmed his exit, and Anthony Martial and Casemiro, among others, also expected to be moved on.
