Beckham: I know the right people to take charge of Man Utd

David Beckham has insisted that he knows who the right people to take over his former club Manchester United are.

The Red Devils are up for sale, with their current owners understood to be listening to offers from potential buyers.

The race for ownership of the Red Devils, as things stand, is between British tycoon Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the chairman of Qatar Islamic Bank Sheikh Jassim, both of whom have submitted bids to buy the team since the Glazer family first invited offers for the club almost a year ago.

Speculation around the team's ownership remains rife, however, with the two bidders seemingly in no advanced position to take over as yet, although they remain interested in buying the club nonetheless.

Inter Miami co-owner and United legend Beckham has now weighed in on the matter, believing that he knows the right people to succeed the Glazers, whom many fans want to see leave United.

With manager Erik ten Hag having come under pressure in recent weeks due to poor results, Beckham recently backed the Dutch boss to turn things around at Old Trafford, before going on to explain what he feels the club needs.

"I think he [Ten Hag] is a good coach," Beckham told Sky Sports.

"It's a difficult time at the moment, but there's a lot of noise around the club at the moment so it can't be easy for him.

"We all want that noise to go away and we all want a decision to be made.

"For the club, for the fans, for the players and for the manager as well, because we are one of the if not the biggest club in the world and we want stability, and I think that's the most important thing.

"We all have our favourites of who we feel needs to run the club and look after the club and take the club back to where it belongs, but in our eyes, in the fans' eyes, we're number one and we want to be back at the top, and I believe I know the right people to do that."

When asked if he was referring to Sheikh Jassim, the famous former footballer, responded with "We'll see," while smiling.

Beckham has close ties with the Qataris, having been made a prominent ambassador for the 2022 FIFA World Cup held in the Middle East nation, and according to talkSPORT, the Red Devils legend will be offered an ambassadorial post at the club if Sheikh Jassim's takeover is successful.
