The shot-stopper, who has signed a deal until June 2027 with the option of a further year, told the club's official website: "It is a huge honour to join Manchester United and become the first Turkish player to represent this incredible club.

"I have a passion for success, and I will give everything to help this special group of players to achieve our ambitions.

"I cannot wait to start working with such an experienced goalkeeping unit. We will support each other and drive high standards every day so that each of us is ready to perform whenever called upon."

Bayindir, who has effectively replaced the recently-departed Dean Henderson at Old Trafford, is expected to operate as a back-up option to Andre Onana, whom United signed for £47.2 million (R1.1 billion) from Inter Milan in July.

The Turkey international now joins a list of Old Trafford newcomers that includes Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount.

Bayindir has impressed since moving to Fenerbahce from Ankaragucu in 2019, amassing 145 appearances for the Super Lig side and keeping 44 clean sheets in the process.
