The fullback has been purchased from the Bundesliga outfit for a fee of €15 million (around R298 million), plus €5 million (R99 million) in potential add-ons, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

It is further understood that the 26-year-old has signed a deal that will keep him at Old Trafford for the next five seasons.

Mazraoui will now be reuniting with Erik ten Hag, with the pair having worked with one another during their time together at Ajax Amsterdam.

The Moroccan came through the Eredivisie side's youth set-up before breaking into the first team, winning three league titles and two domestic cups before making the move to Munich in 2022.

The fullback made 55 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring one goal and assisting on eight occasions too.

The defender missed 19 games through injury and Africa Cup of Nations duty last season, but will be hoping that those injury troubles are behind him as the player looks toward a fresh start at Old Trafford.
