LATEST: Major call 'made' on Ten Hag's Man Utd stay

A major call has now reportedly been made regarding Erik ten Hag's future as manager of Manchester United.

The English giants have decided to part ways with the Dutch tactician after their FA Cup final against Manchester City this Saturday, according to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

This comes after the club finished in a lowly eighth place in the Premier League this season, winning just 18 of their 38 matches to finish with 60 points and a goal difference of -1.

The side also failed to progress beyond the group stage of the UEFA Champions League earlier in this campaign.

Since acquiring a 27.7% stake in the Manchester club, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team have made significant adjustments at the executive level, with a change in the dugout now seemingly imminent as well.

As such, it is said the former Ajax Amsterdam coach is set to be sacked regardless of what happens in the side's cup final this weekend.

Di Marzio also stated that the Red Devils have shortlisted former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna – who helped the side gain back-to-back promotion – and former Brighton Hove Albion coach Roberto De Zerbi for the role.

"If he [McKenna] goes to Chelsea, United will go for Pochettino. But what is certain: they are saying goodbye to Ten Hag," Di Marzio said in an interview with Soccernews.nl.
