Liverpool & Man Utd handed 'firm demand' for African target

Manchester United and Liverpool have now reportedly received a firm demand regarding an African star they are both said to be chasing.

Both Premier League giants are believed to be looking for another highly capable midfielder to boost their squad, with the Reds, in particularly, seemingly more desperate for one after missing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who both opted to join Chelsea instead.

Jurgen Klopp's side did acquire Japanese international Wataru Endo from Stuttgart last week, but his signing has not closed the door on another midfield arrival before the transfer window closes.

The Red Devils have also been eyeing up a deep-lying playmaker to bolster their roster this season, and both English clubs reportedly set their sights on Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat, whose stock shot up after his impressive performances for Morocco at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar caught the eye of a number of top European sides, including FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The Italian outfit have made it no secret that they are listening to offers for the player as he has one year remaining on his deal in Florence after this season, and they have now issued a stern condition regarding the 27-year-old's future.

According to Corriere dello Sport, La Viola have set clubs a 48- to 72-hour window to submit formal bids for Amrabat, with the likes of Liverpool and United now prompted to act fast.

The report claims that the Serie A team hopes to put an end to speculation around their mdifielder by the end of this week, with their new deadline allowing them enough time to find a replacement should Amrabat depart.
