Man Utd linked with shock move for ex-Man City player

Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a shock move for a former Manchester City player as coach Ruben Amorim looks stamp his authority on the squad.

Amorim took over from Erik ten Hag earlier this month and has revealed a lot of work will be needed to get the Red Devils playing at a high level.

Reports in England suggest that the Portuguese tactician could be looking for a new striker to lead the line and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap has now been mention.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils have been keeping an eye on the Ipswich striker in his debut season in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has netted six goals in 13 games for Ipswich this campaign and has now seemingly caught the eye of the bigger sides in the top division.

The report adds that Delap will join one of the clubs in the 'Big Six' if he continues he form, with Chelsea are also said to be an admirer.

However, Both United and Chelsea might find it hard to win his signature as Man City did included a buy-back clause in Delap's contract when he was sold.

Erling Haaland remains Pep Guardiola's first choice striker and it remains to be seen if Delap would want to play second fiddle if he returns to the Etihad.
