Man Utd make 'final' decision on PSG-linked star

Manchester United have reportedly made a final decision regarding a star in their ranks who was recently linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Earlier in September, it was reported that Marcus Rashford was one of three options on the French side's shortlist for a new attacker in the most recent transfer window, along with Gianluca Scamacca and Robert Lewandowski.

Previous reports had also suggested that Les Parisiens superstar Kylian Mbappe pushed for PSG to sign the English forward.

Prior to Erik ten Hag's arrival Old Trafford, Rashford was said to be unhappy with the amount of game time he was receiving and was understood to be open to leaving United as a result, with his representatives believed to have met with the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

This has left the Manchester club in a precarious situation as his contract is set to expire at the end of this season, leaving the footballer in a position where he could negotiate a pre-contract with a new club in January.

According to the Daily Mail, however, the Red Devils have now decided they will secure the forward's future before the turn of the year as they do not want to part ways with the player.

Ten Hag's side are now expected to exercise their option to extend his deal by a further 12 months, and then offer him a new contract.

The former Ajax Amsterdam manager is believed to view the Englishman as an integral part of his plans for the team.

Rashford, who turned 25 on Monday, recently revealed the impact the new head coach has had at the Theatre of Dreams.

"When you are playing in a team sport, you want the players to be together," he said, per the Daily Mail.

"The energy is more positive within the whole team and at the training ground, that is the biggest thing.
