'Man Utd star told me not to kill them in UCL tonight'

An FC Copenhagen player has revealed that a certain Manchester United star has asked him to not "kill them" in their UEFA Champions League clash on Tuesday night.

Forward Elias Achouri has explained that his Tunisia teammate Hannibal Mejbri told him to "chill a bit" ahead of what is a must-win clash for both sides to ensure their hopes of progressing to the next round of the tournament are kept alive.

The Danish club has picked up just one point from their opening two fixtures in Europe's most acclaimed club competition this season, while United have suffered two defeats, to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, leaving them rock bottom of Group A.

Achouri, speaking ahead of the clash, revealed that he has a very good relationship with the Manchester club's African star.

"I know him very well from the national team and both of us grew up in France, so we have a really good connection," the Copenhagen forward told Danish outlet Tipsbladet.

Now, however, he and Mejbri need to put their friendship aside, with both of their team teams desperately needing three points from the encounter.

"It will be a huge moment for me, one of the greatest in my career," Achouri added.

"I need to stay focused and not let it get into my head. I'm a professional and I'm going to Old Trafford to help the team and get a great result for the club.

"He [Hannibal] told me to chill a bit and not kill their players. I told him that I have to or at least give it a try."

The Tunisia international added that his side are heading to Manchester with the intention of coming away with a victory.

"I told Hannibal that we are going to win the match. I think we are going to exchange shirts after the match because he is my friend. It is going to be a cool moment for both of us," Achouri concluded.
