Man United coach provides update on Sancho

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided an update on Jadon Sancho, who has been training on his own for the past couple weeks.

The 22-year-old has been training away from the first team this past month in an attempt to improve both physically and mentally after shaky start to the season.

The England international was not available when the Red Devils defeated Burnley in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and he won't feature against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

"I don't think so," Ten Hag said when asked about Sancho's availability for the Premier League's resumption.

He added: "He is here continually, for the whole season, working with the coaching staff.

"He is working with the squad and the staff. One of his jobs is to get the right spirit for the individuals and the team."

Ten Hag also revealed that star defender Lisandro Martinez will play no part against Forest after his success with Argentina at the FIFA WOrld Cup.

"He's still celebrating in Argentina. I can understand that it's very emotional. Winning the World Cup for your country is magnificent, the highest you can be.

"But also Martinez has to accept that on the 27th the Premier League will go on."
