Man Utd 'put shock price tag' on Brazil star

Manchester United are now reportedly open to parting ways with one of their Brazil stars, having put a shock price tag on the Selecao player.

It is no secret that United's transfer business so far in this window is widely concentrated on players who could potentially arrive at the club as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

The Old Trafford team has been linked with a handful of strikers, while a new goalkeeper and a midfielder, believed to be Chelsea's Mason Mount, have also been mooted as positions that will be reinforced.

With the aforementioned Blues star seemingly on his way to the Theatre of Dreams pending a second improved bid from their initial £40 million (R941 million) offer, manager Erik ten Hag is now expected to offload one of his current playmakers.

According to The Telegraph, the Mancunians are seriously considering selling Fred in this window, and have slapped a price tag of just £20 million (R471 million) on the player after paying more than double that fee to sign him in 2018.

Despite featuring 56 times for the Red Devils in Ten Hag's debut campaign in charge of the team, it is claimed he is likely to feature less prominently next season if he stays.

The 30-year-old's most likely next destination is believed to be Fulham, with their manager Marco Silva having been seen pulling the midfielder aside for a chat on the final day of the Premier League season in May.

The Cottagers are understood to be strongly interested in signing Fred, but are said to be unwilling to pay the abovementioned price and are hoping for an even smaller transfer fee.
