Man Utd set to make big Ten Hag call?

Manchester United are reportedly set to make a big call regarding manager Erik ten Hag's involvement at the club next season.

Having endured a turbulent campaign so far, the Red Devils look to be once again steering in the right direction.

United are now unbeaten in their past five games across all competitions, collecting four wins and a draw.

Their goalscoring woes also seem to be behind them for the time being, having hit the back of the net 15 times in those five matches.

Ten Hag's job now looks to be safe amid previous reports that he could be sacked if his team's fortunes had not changed in recent weeks.

However, with a raft of changes also taking place behind the scenes at Old Trafford, the Dutchman's role in some elements of the club could also be subject to change.

According to the Metro, Ten Hag is set to have a reduced role in the club's transfer activity from next season.

The former Ajax Amsterdam boss has been influential in the team's recruitment over the past four windows, and understood to have been behind the signings of Antony, Lisandro Martinez, Andre Onana, and Sofyan Amrabat, all of whom had played under him previously before reuniting with the tactician at the Theatre of Dreams.

It is said that under the new sporting director Omar Berrada, United will turn to a data-driven model when recruiting talent.

As such, it is claimed United have now turned their sights to Everton defender Jarrod Branthwaite and Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

It is believed they could acquire the former at a reduced price given the Toffees' well-documented financial problems, while Olise is said to have a release clause of £65 million (R1.5 billion) in his contract with the Eagles.
