Manchester United have reportedly identified their number one transfer priority but are said to be facing serious competition from both Liverpool and Manchester City for the highly sough-after star.
Various reports suggest that United are likely to bring in a number of new signings over the next two windows to give new boss Erik ten Hag the reinforcements he'd like in order to build his own squad, suitable to his vision.
In the last window, the club spent massively on the likes of Antony, Casemiro, and Lisandro Martinez, who required a huge combined fee over €220 million (R3.9 billion) in order to join the side. Last weekend, the Dutch tactician revealed that he was impressed with the new recruits' impact so far and that he is keen on bringing players with a similar calibre in the upcoming windows, according to Goal.
"I think the signings thank the squad. [They are] the right players with the right players who were already there and, together, they are forming a team and the team spirit is good, it's high," the Red Devils boss said.
"So also [we need] to keep that going, keep constructing that, keep building that, and bring even more passion and desire in because we want to win something."

A new report by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenburg, claims that Ten Hag has already identified Borussia Dortmund player Jude Bellingham as his biggest transfer priority at the end of the season.
"He's the transfer target No.1 for #MUFC confirmed! They expect him to cost around €150 million (R2.6 billion).
"They have scouted him a lot. Ten Hag wants him in 2023! But: Chances are low due to competition from [Man City] and [Liverpool], and due to Financial Fair Play!"
Bellingham is has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, while the Citizens are understood to be confident in signing the 19-year-old after positive talks with the player's entourage recently.
