Greenwood set for shock move to European giants?

Mason Greenwood could now be set to join one of Europe's biggest clubs after reportedly telling friends he believes his time at Manchester United is over.

The Englishman remains sidelined at Old Trafford pending an internal investigation by the club after charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm made against him last year were dropped in February.

With the player's arrest initial arrest taking place in January 2022, he has not featured in any match since a Premier League encounter against West Ham United that month.

With the club's investigation still pending, it looks certain the 21-year-old will not return to action in 2022/23, with United considering various resolutions to the matter, including reintegrating the player back into the team, selling him, and releasing him with his contract paid in full.

His potential return to the squad is said to have been met with contrasting opinions, though, with some investors and the club's women's team reportedly opposing the idea, while some members of the men's squad are said to be open to welcoming him back into the side.

However, the Bradford-born star has reportedly informed friends he does not believe he will play for the club again, and is understood to be open to leaving the Theatre of Dreams, having been linked with a move to Turkey in March.

Now, per the Daily Mirror, Italian giants Juventus are "extremely interested" in signing the forward, and hope that his former teammate in Manchester, Paul Pogba, can convince him to make the move to Turin.

Juve could face some serious competition for Greenwood's signature, though, with AC Milan and Jose Mourinho's AS Roma also believed to be keen to snap up the marksman.
