OFFICIAL: Man Utd snap up starlet from EPL rivals

Manchester United have now secured the signing of a highly-touted starlet from one of their biggest Premier League rivals.

The Red Devils have announced the signing of 16-year-old striker Chido Obi-Martin from Arsenal, following a protracted transfer process that included a ratification process and Premier League approval.

The Danish teenager scored an impressive 32 goals in 20 U18 Premier League matches for the Gunners during the 2023/24 season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is said to have held discussions with the starlet with the aim of persuading him to stay at the club, but it is believed the Gunners were not willing to fast-track his development.

As such, it has been suggested that the player decided to move to Old Trafford because he felt it would present to him a better avenue to first-team football, with it also being claimed that he turned down offers from other elite European clubs to make the switch to Manchester.

According to Football Insider, United assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy held direct talks with the young striker, and this was said to be key in convincing him to take his career to the Theatre of Dreams.
