Manchester United are reportedly prepared to splash €50 million on a Netherlands star as Erik ten Hag looks to bolster the squad in January.
The Red Devils have lost the services of Cristiano Ronaldo after the club mutually terminated his contract following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
Ten Hag recently revealed the club are looking to sign a forward in the January transfer window, but only if they find the right player.

The Telegraph have now reported that Ten Hag wants to sign PSV Eindhoven foward Cody Gakpo, who scored three goals for the Dutch at the World Cup in Qatar.
Gakpo was seemingly a target for the Red Devils before the start of the season, but the club opted to sign Brazil international Antony after it was confirmed Ronaldo would be staying.
PSV, meanwhile, look to be bracing themselves for a potential departure after Gakpo's exploits at the World Cup, according to sporting director, Marcel Brands.
"He has no clause or anything," Brands told the PSV supporters' club talk show Eeuwig Trouw.
"No amounts have been agreed on either. The agreements that were made were there before my time. Amounts have not been discussed, but if the right club comes that Cody would like to go.
"Those agreements were already made before I came. It must be a record transfer anyway. Then you know in which direction it should go."
