Following his departure from Manchester United on Monday, it is now reported that Ruud van Nistelrooy is a frontrunner for a new managerial role in England.
On 11 November, United confirmed Van Nistelrooy's permanent departure from the club following a brief stint as caretaker coach. The 48-year-old was initially hired in July as an assistant coach to then-manager Erik ten Hag.

However, Ten Hag was dismissed in October after a disappointing start to the season, which saw the Red Devils languishing in 14th place in the Premier League at the time of his sacking.
Less than a week later, United announced an agreement with former Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim to replace Ten Hag, although he would not take over immediately.
Consequently, Van Nistelrooy took on caretaker duties for four matches against Chelsea, PAOK, and Leicester City (in two fixtures).
The Dutchman achieved an impressive record, winning three of the four matches he managed, with the only draw coming in a 1-1 result against Chelsea.
His strong performance has now made him a leading candidate for a new position just days after bidding farewell to Old Trafford.
According to Sky Bet, Van Nistelrooy has 3/1 odds of becoming the next head coach of Coventry City after the club recently sacked their manager Mark Robins.
It is noted, however, that the former PSV Eindhoven manager faces competition for the role, as Frank Lampard, Lee Carsley, Matt Bloomfield and Robbie Keane are also reportedly in contention.
Another report by The Sun suggests that Van Nistelrooy is also being considered by Burnley, who are reportedly growing frustrated with their current manager, Scott Parker, following the Clarets' underwhelming attacking performance, which has seen them score only nine goals in the EFL Championship this season.
