France have confirmed that they have launched a complaint with FIFA over a controversial call in their shock 2022 World Cup defeat to Tunisia on Wednesday.
The African nation defeated Les Bleus 1-0 on the night, but that result was not enough to help them qualify for the last 16, with Australia and France progressing from Group D.

The match, however, came to an abrupt end after a 98th-minute equaliser from Antoine Griezmann was ruled out for offside following a Video Assistant Referee review.
That decision was a controversial one as it was centred on a subjective call regarding whether or Tunisia's Montassar Talbi's clearance in the build-up to the goal was a "deliberate play".
The VAR seemingly ruled that the African defender was not in control of his clearing header, with the attempted clearance therefore not being deemed as a "deliberate play".
To add to the questions many had, the play was restarted after Griezmann's goal, before the VAR intervened.
The laws of the game, per the International Football Association Board, state that: "If play has stopped and restarted, the referee may only undertake a 'review', and take the appropriate disciplinary sanction, for mistaken identity or for a potential sending-off offence relating to violent conduct, spitting, biting or extremely offensive, insulting and/or abusive action(s)."

The call from match referee Matt Conger was thus met with much criticism, with many bemused by the decision.
The French Football Federation has since confirmed they are making a complaint to FIFA regarding the incident.
"We are writing a complaint following Antoine Griezmann's goal, which we believe was wrongly disallowed," a statement from the organisation read, per Goal.
"This complaint must be sent to FIFA within 24 hours after the end of the match."
