France suffer another big World Cup blow

France have suffered another massive blow ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with one of their heroes from the 2018 tournament in Russia having now been ruled out.

The French nation has been dealt with a number of injuries to key players in recent weeks, with Manchester United defender Raphael Varane recently walking off the pitch against Chelsea in tears amid fears he will be ruled out of the upcoming showpiece, while Blues midfielder N'Golo Kante's fate has already been confirmed to be out of the competition.

The centre-back' hopes of making the World Cup hangs in the balance as he continues to rehabilitate in his home nation.

Aston Villa's Boubacar Kamara is also likely to miss the tournament as he races to recover from knee ligament damage he suffered in September.

With Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps potentially missing out on two central midfielders for the upcoming tournament, he has now been dealt with a new headache.

Juventus star Paul Pogba's agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has now confirmed that her client will miss the tournament due to injury.

"Following yesterday and today's medical review in Torino and Pittsburgh, it is extremely painful to inform Paul Pogba will still need recovery time from his surgery," she said, per the Daily Mirror.

"For this reason, Paul will not be able to join Juventus squad before the World Cup break nor the French national team in Qatar.

"If wishful thinking would change things, Paul would be playing tomorrow.

"But what changes things are hard work, resilience and discipline, all of which are the only things in Paul's mind at these challenging times.

"Paul will continue working, giving his very best to be back on the pitch for the fans and his team as soon as possible."
