Real Madrid awarded millions by FIFA

FIFA has compensated clubs for the participation of their players at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with Real Madrid receiving the third most amount of earnings.

Each domestic team that had a player at the World Cup is due compensation for every individual partaking at the event, which is said to be just under €10 000 (R203 045) per day per player.

FC Barcelona are the second highest earners, with €4.08 million (R82.8 million), although this is despite the fact they they had the most representatives (17) at the showpiece.

Real fall third among the recipients after they were awarded €3.45 million (R70 million).

According to Los Blancos' official website, only 11 players have won a World Cup while on their books, and Argentina's triumph in December marked the first time a Real player has not received a winner's medal since the 2006 edition in Germany, which was won by Italy.
