Real Madrid will sign Mbappe 'only on 1 condition'

Real Madrid are said to still be keen to sign Kylian Mbappe, but will reportedly only complete the transfer on one condition.

It seems the saga involving Mbappe and Real is set to continue, with the Spanish club believed to still want to sign the Paris Saint-Germain superstar.

In May 2022, the 24-year-old snubbed Los Blancos by penning a new deal at the Parc des Princes that made him the highest-paid player at the Ligue 1 club.

While that decision may have left a bad taste in Real president Florentino Perez's mouth, with the executive having publicly criticised the player's apparent change of heart, it appears the Madrid side has not ruled out the move entirely.

According to Spanish news outlet AS, Los Blancos are still keen to get the Frenchman to the Santiago Bernabeu, but are only interested in signing the forward as a free agent when his PSG contract expires.

The report also claims that Mbappe has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for free a year earlier than scheduled, in the next transfer window, due to PSG's lack of success in the UEFA Champions League.

It is also said that sources close to the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner believe his mind is made up and that he has already organised a meeting with Les Parisiens at the end of the season to communicate his wish to move to Madrid.

A recent report by the same outlet also claimed that the marksman has told high-level officials at Real of his desire to join the side, while the LaLiga team has, in turn, made it clear they are not looking to splash the cash on him.

Real appear to be in the market for winger and an attacking forward, with recent reports suggesting that the reigning FIFA Club World Cup champions are weighing up the possibility of signing Leroy Sane and Kai Havertz from Bayern Munich and Chelsea, respectively, among others.
