Ancelotti breaks silence on Hazard comments

Earlier this week, the Belgian star made comments that he and his manager were not on speaking terms, but that there was mutual respect between them.

These remarks have left many quite surprised, given the Italian coach's reputation as one of the best in the game when it comes to man-management.

Hazard confirmed that despite his minimal game time under the tactician, he is not exactly interested in leaving the club anytime soon.

Speaking ahead of Real's second-leg UEFA Champions League round of 16 clash against Liverpool on Tuesday, Ancelotti addressed the situation, admitting that the 31-year-old's comments were indeed true.

"The relationship is not cold. You have to value both perspectives. Hazard has been very honest, we don't talk much because it could be a matter of character," said the 63-year-old, according to the Daily Mail.

"The most important thing for me, that if we don't talk much, he still respects me. It's the most important thing... just like I respect him.

"He doesn't play because he has a lot of competition and a player in his position who is playing very well, which is Vinicius (Junior)."

When asked if Hazard will be in his squad next season, the former Bayern Munich boss said: "For next year I have the players that the club makes available to me."
