Mbappe was speaking at France's training camp ahead of his side's international friendly against Luxembourg on Wednesday night when he expressed happiness at joining a club he was always dreamed of playing for.
"Finally, it's official, I am going to be a Real Madrid player for the next five years. It's an immense pleasure, a dream coming true, a lot of emotions," he said, per The Guardian.
"I'm very, very happy, relieved, very proud to be joining a club where I've always dreamed of being."
The attacker ended the 2023/24 campaign with 44 goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions for PSG, helping them to a Ligue 1 triumph as well as two domestic trophies.
The season, however, did not begin all that well for the Frenchman, who was left out of the side's pre-season tour to Japan after reportedly deciding against triggering the option to extend his contract by another year.
He was also left out of the squad for the first league encounter of the season, a goalless draw against FC Lorient, and according to the forward, the club told him "violently" that he would not play.
"I wasn't unhappy at PSG, that would be to spit in the soup. [But] some things and some people made me unhappy," the former AS Monaco star said.
"They [PSG] made me understand that I wouldn't play, they told me to my face, they told me violently.
"[Manager] Luis Enrique and [sporting director] Luís Campos saved me.
"I wouldn't have set foot on the pitch again without them."
Mbappe also admitted that the occurrences behind closed doors affected his performance on the pitch.
"Someone who's happy has more chance of playing well, but there are no excuses for some of my performances I had.
"It wasn't as high as my usual standards. Yet just to play, to win trophies was my biggest pride. But next season I won't be satisfied with a season like that."
