A Paris Saint-Germain star has revealed the real reason why he turned down a move to Real Madrid.
In May, the French forward signed a three year contract extension in Paris, ending speculation that he would join Real Madrid, who had reportedly made a few contract offers to the player over the course of the 2021/22 campaign.
Soon after that announcement, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez stated that the France star will "already be sorry" for rejecting a move to the LaLiga champions, and that he did not want "this Mbappe"
Early into the 2022/23 campaign, there were reports suggesting that the France international wants to leave PSG but the superstar quickly dismissed any suggestions by insisitng that he is happy with his current club.

Mbappe has now revealed why he turned down a move to the LaLiga side.
"I always talk about my ambition, what I want to do, and now it's time," the 23-year-old said, per Goal.
"In Paris, the book is fully white. What an opportunity! You have to think differently. Of course, it was easier to go to Madrid. But I have this ambition.
"I'm French. I'm a child of Paris, and to win in Paris, it's something really special—really special. It writes your name in the history of your country for life.

"You can stay here to have success. For us it's a big message, because when I announced I stay, a lot of things change in the mentality of people.
"People start to say, 'Yeah, we don't need to go out. You don't need to leave the country'."
