Real Madrid 'leading' the race for Man City star

Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly leading the race to sign a certain Manchester City star next season.

Bernardo Silva has been linked with a depature from the Manchester outfit in the last couple years, but Pep Guardiola has seemingly persuaded him to stay.

FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be keen on the Portugal international, but it seems Los Blancos have now thrown their name in the hat.

According to Daily Star, Los Blancos have moved ahead of the other suitors as they are willing to pay the player's buy-out clause.

The report claims that Silva's £50million has sparked a lot of interest ahead of the next transfer window from some of Europe's top teams.

Silva remains a key figure in Pep Guardiola's side this season, which was evident with the player scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on Saturday.

The report added that if Silva were to leave to the Etihad, he would prefer a move to Spain, where Los Blancos or Barcelona would be the destination.

Barcelona midfielder Joao Felix has revealed Silva has enquired about the Catalan giants.

"Let them bring him (to Barca). Have you seen him play? He's even better as a person. He's from (Joao) Cancelo's generation. Now players last until they are 35-36 years old," Felix told Jijantes FC.

"His sister-in-law is here, (he's asked me) about how things are here, the weather, tax issues... I told him it's all right for him to come. I don't think Manchester City will make it easy. For $63 million (£50 million) I would bring him, even for €60-70 million ($65-76 million)."
