With Real Madrid having been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League after an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Manchester City, the club has now reportedly made a decision on manager Carlo Ancelotti's future.
Los Blancos suffered their joint-worst defeat in their history in the competition against City, with the result on Wednesday night equalling the 4-0 hammering they took at the hands of another English side, Liverpool, back in 2009.

After winning both the LaLiga and the Champions League titles in the 2021/22 campaign, the club has since failed to defend both titles, with their bitter rivals FC Barcelona having claimed the league title quite comfortably with four games to spare.
On the upside, the Madrid giants have got their hands on some silverware this campaign after winning the UEFA Super Cup, 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, and the Copa del Rey.
However, missing out on the two biggest competitions available has once again driven further speculation over Ancelotti's future next season, in addition to the ongoing rumours that he could take the Brazil national team job ahead of the 2024 Copa America.

According to The Athletic, though, Real have decided that the Italian boss will stay in charge of the team until his contract expires at the end of next season.
It is said the club's hierarchy trusts the manager for the remainder of his sporting project at the Santiago Bernabeu, with it being claimed that his position at the club was always safe regardless of what happened against City.
Former Real player and club spokesman Emilio Butragueno also rushed to Ancelotti's defence after the heavy defeat earlier this week.
"Ancelotti has one more year in his contract with us and he's won everything with Real Madrid. This was just a very bad and sad night, that's it," Butragueno answered when asked about the 63-year-old's future in Madrid.
Quizzed about the future of some of the team's veterans, he replied: "We have to show respect to our players. They tried. The second half was better. These players gave us a lot and deserve respect for everything they have done for the club."
