Real 'ready to move' for Mbappe, huge price revealed?

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Kylian Mbappe, with his enormous price tag having seemingly been revealed.

The French forward was largely expected to make the switch to the Spanish giants in 2022, but surprised many when he signed a blockbuster new contract with the Ligue 1 side instead, leaving Los Blancos president Florentino Perez fuming.

The relationship between Perez and Mbappe's mom and agent, Fayza Lamari, was said to have broken down as a result, with the club president feeling betrayed as he believed the terms of the Frenchman's future contract in Madrid had been agreed, while the forward's mother blamed Perez for leaking to the Spanish press that the deal was completed even though she had insisted they were still talking to PSG at the time.

Since the failed move, the Real Madrid chief has publicly stated that a transfer for Kylian Mbappe no longer interested him.

According to The Athletic, however, if Mbappe decides to leave Les Parisiens at the end of this season, Real will be ready to make an offer.

Just months after signing his new PSG contract, the 24-year-old was said to have become concerned with the direction the Ligue 1 club was heading in following a number of failed promises, including the failed signings of certain players such as Robert Lewandowski, who ended up at FC Barcelona instead.

Per the report, the PSG hierarchy is aware that Mbappe's dream of playing for Real one day is still alive, with a club source saying that they could ask for as much €400 million (R7.3 billion) if he does decide to depart.

"The only club that can get him out of here is Real Madrid," the unnamed source from PSG said.

"Nothing is impossible in football, but we could ask for €400m ($431m; £352m), or not even put a price on him," the source said.

It remains to be seen if any club would be able to pay that hefty fee for the talisman any time soon, but it is now believed that Perez and company will pull out all the stops if it becomes clear the France forward is available.
