Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri edging closer to Juventus

Juventus are close to getting a new manager after reports in England claim Chelsea are willing to release Maurizio Sarri after just one season.

Despite leading the Blues to a third-place finish and the UEFA Europa League title in his first season with the club, Sarri has informed the club he wants a return to Italy, according to Sky Sports.

The Italian has only one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge, although the report claims he never felt 'comfortable' working and living England while he never had the best of relationships with the Chelsea hierarchy.

Sky Sports insists the Blues had no plans to part ways with the 60-year-old but they have no intentions of retaining someone who is unhappy.

Sarri is no stranger to Italian football as he managed Napoli where he led the club to three top-three finishes during his three seasons with the club.

Should everything go according to plan, Sarri will become the new Juve manager as early as next week according to Italian outlets Sportitalia and Sky Sport Italia.
