Christian Eriksen transfer-listed by Inter Milan

Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that outcast midfielder Christian Eriksen has been placed on the transfer list by the club.

Following a protracted transfer saga in January this year, Eriksen joined Inter in a reported €20 million (R356 million) move after refusing to sign a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur.

Things have not gone to plan for the Denmark international in Italy however, where he has failed to win over manager Antonio Conte and made just 12 league starts since joining the Nerazzurri.

Eriksen was once again overlooked for Inter's Serie A clash against Hellas Verona on Wednesday and it now appears that he has played his final match for the club, with CEO Marotta confirming that the 28-year-old has been put on the market.

"I can confirm that Christian Eriksen is on the transfer list," he told Sky Sport Italy h/t The World Game.

"He's going to leave in January. He's not functional to our plans and he had difficulty here at Inter. I think it's right that Christian goes away to find more space."
