Cristiano Ronaldo adds new trophy to cabinet after Coppa Italia triumph

Cristiano Ronaldo has added a new trophy to his remarkable collection after winning the Coppa Italia with Juventus on Wednesday evening.

Ronaldo achieved the incredible feat of having won the league and domestic cup for three different clubs in three separate countries when he starred in Juventus' 2-1 Coppa Italia triumph over Atalanta at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia.

The victory on Wednesday also saw the Portuguese superstar increase his overall trophy haul to 32 pieces of silverware for club and country, with his latest success being the 16th unique trophy he was won during his playing career thus far.*

That tally includes five UEFA Champions League trophies and four FIFA Club World Cups spread across his spells with Real Madrid and Manchester United, as well as two UEFA Super Cups with Los Blancos.

His remarkable collection started with a Portuguese Super Cup triumph at boyhood club Sporting Lisbon, before he won three Premier League crowns, two League Cups and an FA Cup and a Community Shield apiece with the Red Devils, in addition to his continental achievements.

That facilitated a then-world-record move to Madrid in 2009, where he added six more accolades to his name on the domestic front, including two LaLiga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies and two Spanish Super Cups.

He then joined Juventus in 2018 and won two Serie A crowns and two Italian Super Cups, before completing his domestic collection with the Coppa Italia triumph on Thursday evening.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has also won two major honours on the international stage, having captained Portugal to the 2016 UEFA European Championship and 2019 UEFA Nations League trophies.
