Cristiano Ronaldo set for Real Madrid return?

Reports in Spain suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to leave Juventus, with the aim of seemingly joining either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Ronaldo wants to leave the Serie A side in this transfer window and not in 2022 when his contract expires, and has set his sights on Carlo Ancelotti's Los Blancos or the Ligue 1 giants.

It is further claimed that an exit from Turin in this window has been the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's intention for the past six months, with the forward seemingly believing that his time in Italy has come to an end.

With Manchester United seemingly ruled out, PSG have been mentioned as the most likely destination for Ronaldo, but manager Mauricio Pochettino will reportedly only pursue the Portugal captain if Kylian Mbappe leaves the Parisian club in this window, while Real only have their eyes on the 22-year-old French forward.

Although Los Blancos have a lot of good memories with Ronaldo, club president Florentino Perez said during an interview with El Chiringuito in April that any move for their former star player did not make sense at the time.

However, it is understood that the attacker's good relationship with returning manager Carlo Ancelotti might change things in this regard.

Real's plan has reportedly not changed in the past few months, though: it is either Mbappe or nothing.

If Ronaldo wants to leave the Bianconeri, he will seemingly have to hope that the Frenchman moves to the LaLiga giants so he can secure a move to PSG, or be willing to join another team such as one of the Manchester clubs, whom he has been previously linked with.
