Ex-Juve star: Ronaldo doesn't want me in Saudi Arabia

A former Juventus star has joked that Cristiano Ronaldo does not want him to move to the Saudi Pro League.

The transfer window has been open for a couple weeks but a number of high-profile footballers have made the switch to Saudi Arabia recently.

Reigning Ballon d'Or holder Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante have joined Al-Ittihad Club, while Senegalese duo Kalidou Koulibaly and Édouard Mendy both left Chelsea for the Far East.

Juan Cuadrado is a free agent after parting ways with Juventus, but he reveals he still wants to compete in Europe.

"At this moment, I still have the passion and I like to compete. Besides, Ronaldo is down there and he doesn't want me!," the winger told AS.

"I am very relaxed, thinking of what is best, asking God for help with these decisions.

"My agent Andrey Martinez was in Europe and has just arrived to talk to me about various situations. Obviously, there are options and we'll analyse which is the best."

The Colombian also revealed he is proud of what he achieved in Turin and hopes more of his countryman will follow in his footsteps.

"I feel proud and perhaps some are just starting to realise what my time at Juventus meant," he said.

"I can only thank God for having eight years playing at that level. I dreamed of it, but didn't think it would be like that, spending so long there.

"I hope that in future Colombians who go to the likes of Juventus and Milan can leave this kind of legacy too. It fills me with pride."
