Inter Milan part ways with Luciano Spalletti

Inter Milan have officially parted ways with coach Luciano Spalletti, with former Chelsea, Italy and Juventus manager Antonio Conte tipped to be his successor.

Spalletti, 60, was appointed as coach of the Nerazzurri in June 2017 after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Serie A giants.

The former AS Roma manager guided Inter to their first UEFA Champions League spot in six years at the end of his first season in charge, but despite repeating the feat in the 2018/19 campaign, Spalletti is believed to have failed to convince the club's hierarchy he is the right man for the job.

"FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer head coach of the first team," a club statement read, as per ESPN.

"The club wishes to thank Spalletti for his work and the results achieved together."

Overall, Spalletti was in charge of 90 games at Inter, registering 46 victories, playing to 24 draws and succumbing to defeat on 20 occasions.
